DESIGN + PHOTO
With a degree in graphic design and a 15-year award-winning career as an art director behind me, design is in my DNA. I still shoot with the eye of an art director, leaving space for type and room for cropping. Every so often I have the joy of combining my love of design with my passion for photography. Whether it's creating a brand to sit alongside your images or a brochure to display them in, I can help you. Here are a few examples of recent work that combines my photography and design skills.
BERISFORD - CA ARTIST
Not only did I have the absolute joy of spending a. week in Calafornia shooting Beri at work and his amazing art - but I also had the pleasure of then designing the photos into a 120-page showcase catalog.
HUGHIE'S
Hughie's unique clothing range was founded in 2022 in memory of Hugh who bravely fought a battle with a rare form of osteosarcoma. Through an existing photography client I became involved as an identity was needed to launch this brand.
The logo was developed with the font representing the internal structure of a bone and the unique apostrophe, a nod to the Bone Cancer Research Trust logo. I also developed the very fitting hashtag, #bravetothebone which sits across all designs. The sweatshirts and caps are in Hugh’s favourite colour, navy blue, with colourful accents to symbolise positivity and hope.
KATIE KNIGHT THERAPIES
Alongside Katie's beautiful branding photography that showcases her skills as an Acupuncturist and her beautiful treatment room on Tunbridge Wells High Street (view here) - I also helped her develop a brand identity, business cards and website.
THE PASADENA ROOF ORCHESTRA
The Pasadena Rood Orchestra are one of the UK's finest dance bands, playing the timeless music of the 1920s and 1930s to audiences all over the world for over 55 years. Band leader Duncan Galloway first got in touch as they needed a photoshoot to promote their latest recording 'Back on The Road Again' featuring The Puppini Sisters. This led to me designing the gatefold LP - and various tour posters for the band have followed over the ensuing years.
RUN PROJECTS
Run Projects was established to help clients deliver successful residential building projects in a professional yet personal way. Taking photographs of Run Projects completed work is only part of what I do - I also use the imagery of their beautiful projects and interiors to create leave-behind case studies and regular eye-catching and effective advertising.
SHENLEY MOORE - PROFESSIONAL CHEF
With over 23 years of experience as a professional chef, Shenley Moore possesses a wealth of knowledge and skills. Having worked in Cape Town and London restaurants as well as at Leiths School of Food and Wine in London as a Senior Teacher, Shenley still teaches and caters privately. Her use of the best raw ingredients was the basis for her personal brand, using striking photography of food textures. This identity has been expanded into labelling for her own produce.
